PlateCrew is a meal journal with nutrition estimates and a cast of characters. These terms set out what you can expect from the service and what we ask of you in return.
Nutrition estimates and character responses do not replace medical advice.
If you subscribe in the iOS app, Apple presents the price and handles payment and cancellation.
Your meal photos and entries remain yours. We use them to operate the features you request.
01 Agreement and operator
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are between you and Kunal Behbudzade, the operator of PlateCrew (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By using PlateCrew, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These Terms govern the PlateCrew service. For an iOS app downloaded from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also governs your license to the app unless a separate custom license is supplied in App Store Connect. Apple is not the operator of PlateCrew.
02 What PlateCrew provides
PlateCrew lets you record meals, review food and nutrition estimates, and see character-led responses and progress. Features may include photo analysis, a meal journal, personal targets, generated text or audio, and sharing tools. Full access requires a paid subscription. The app and purchase screen will identify what is included before you pay.
The characters, points, scores, and progress visuals are ways to explore a food journal. They are not measurements of organ function or medical outcomes.
03 Eligibility
PlateCrew has no fixed minimum age. If you are a child and your local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission for processing personal information, get that permission before using features that collect or share such information.
Children’s nutrition and growth needs differ from adults’. A parent or guardian should guide a child’s use of the app and seek advice from a qualified professional for individual nutrition concerns. Do not submit another person’s photo or sensitive information without the right to do so.
04 Access and security
PlateCrew may associate your journal with an identifier stored on your device or, if account features are available, with a sign-in method you choose. Keep your device and sign-in credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your journal without permission.
Removing the app or changing devices may affect access to data stored only on that device. If we add account recovery or cross-device access, the app will explain how those features work.
05 Subscriptions and billing
PlateCrew offers a paid auto-renewing subscription through the iOS app, and Apple processes the purchase. The purchase screen will show the plan, billing period, full price charged, and included features before you confirm. The initial offer does not include a free trial.
An auto-renewing subscription renews for the stated period unless you cancel through Apple before the next renewal. Deleting PlateCrew does not cancel an Apple subscription. To change or cancel it, use Apple’s subscription settings. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an eligible purchase on a compatible device.
Apple handles billing, taxes, refunds, and payment-method changes for App Store purchases under its applicable terms. You can request a refund through Apple’s Report a Problem service. Your statutory consumer rights are not reduced by this section.
06 Your content and our content
You keep your rights in meal photos, entries, and other content you submit. You give us a limited permission to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to provide the features you request, keep your journal, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Our Privacy Policy describes the related data handling.
PlateCrew’s name, characters, artwork, software, and original content belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service for its intended purpose while you comply with these Terms. Do not copy or commercially exploit the app or characters without permission.
If you choose to export or share a story, you decide where it goes. Check the preview first, especially if it includes a meal photo or personal nutrition information.
07 Acceptable use
Do not use PlateCrew to break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, probe or disrupt the service, bypass purchase controls, scrape or reverse engineer systems except where law permits, or submit malicious or abusive content. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
08 Nutrition, health, and AI limits
Food identification, portion sizes, nutrient values, targets, scores, and generated character responses are estimates. Photos can be unclear, foods can vary, and AI can be wrong. Review and correct a draft before saving it. Do not use PlateCrew to diagnose, prevent, treat, or manage a medical condition, or as the sole basis for a major dietary decision.
For allergies, pregnancy, an eating disorder, a medical condition, a prescribed diet, or questions about your health, ask a qualified clinician or registered dietitian. Seek urgent medical help when needed. PlateCrew does not provide emergency services.
The crew is a playful presentation of food and nutrition information. A character’s “heart”, “gut”, or other label is not a clinical assessment of that body system.
09 Availability and changes to features
We work to keep PlateCrew available, but network, device, third-party, and maintenance issues can interrupt it. We may change, improve, or discontinue features. Where a material change affects a paid feature, we will provide any notice or remedy required by applicable law and the App Store’s rules.
10 Liability and consumer rights
To the extent permitted by law, PlateCrew is provided without a guarantee that every estimate, response, or feature will be accurate or uninterrupted. We are responsible for losses only to the extent required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer protections.
If you have a problem with the service, contact us so we can investigate it. Apple is not responsible for providing PlateCrew support, except for its own App Store billing and refund services.
11 Ending your use
You may stop using PlateCrew at any time. You may request deletion of information linked to your installation or account as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access for a serious violation of these Terms or a legal requirement, subject to applicable law.
Stopping use or deleting data does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it separately in Apple’s subscription settings.
12 Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. We will change the date above and give additional notice when required for a material update. Continuing to use PlateCrew after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, where that method of acceptance is permitted by law.
